This past week I was a little to busy to be super creative because I was working on a large order of coffee sleeves, but I did manage to make some baby food for my little guy’s first non breast milk meal(he did awesome and loved it!). I’d been waiting to use my new baby bullet for almost 4 months so I was quite excited to finally be able to try it out, making your own homemade baby food is actually a very easy thing to do. It took me about 30 minutes to whip up 16 servings of brown rice cereal and about 8 servings of apple sauce puree I mixed the 2 together when I was done making them. It was fun and easy to make I will be making his baby food from now on, and I can’t wait to try some new recipes. Here is the recipe I used, enjoy!
Ingredients you will need:
Brown Rice Cereal-
- 1/2 cup of brown rice
- 4 cups of water
Step 1: Measure out 1/2 a cup of brown rice.
Step 2: Put brown rice in your baby bullet or food processor, and mill it until it is powdery.
Step 3: Place your milled brown rice in to the 4 cups of water and bring to a boil, once it has come to a boil turn heat down to low, and allow it to cook for 20 minutes. That’s it, super easy!
Apple Sauce Puree-
- 1 or 2 Apples of your choice
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- a dash of cinnamon
- (water for boiling apple)
Step 1: Peel and core apples, and boil them in water until tender(about 15 minutes)
Step 2: Put brown sugar, cinnamon, apples, and water into the baby bullet to blend until smooth
Now that you have finished, mix the two together to make brown rice cereal with apples(I did 3/4 cereal and 1/4 apple sauce). Put them in to whatever you are going to store the food in.
Here are a few pictures of My sweet baby boy eating the baby food, he really did love it:) Have a wonderful week!
